This category covers all the niggling depths
to the Blood Hounds Universe that are often too tedious to officially
paragraph into the world history. Most questions are answered clearly.
However a few might be perceived as short or rather vague. This is not
without reason as they will be covered more in depth at a future time...
If you think you have a question not already covered in Blood Hounds

Vampires
1. Is the Dark one a vampire?
No, the Dark One is a powerful being that was ritually fused
into the body of a mortal that he cannot be cast out of. A flesh and
blood fallen angel.
2. Why doesn't the Dark One have a name?
Don't ask, don't tell. Beings such as that simply have titles
as relinquishing their name is a rare occurrence.
3. Does the Dark One engage in actual combat?
What powers does he possess? He has never engaged in physical
hand to hand combat. However upon very rare occasion he has used his
power to destroy those who personally pained him including those within
the Vampire Nation. However having lived as long as he has most of his
days are spent planning and plotting. Nowadays it is considered beneath
him to even raise his hand to attend a situation the Vampire Nation
cannot handle themselves. Either that or he has been bound from doing
so. In any case his powers are unknown to a large extent simply because
they are never seen in motion. Those that have seen the Dark One in
motion such as his flesh and blood children see fit not to tell tales
of their father as if he was merely a myth for little children.
4. Has the Dark One ever attempted to rescue the possessed female
that was then later imprisoned under the Vatican from the Blood Hounds
intro story?
He has no will to rescue such a being that can rival his
own power. There is a reason why the Vatican's hunters were finally
able to secure her capture. One that the Dark One had a hand in orchestrating
himself. The Dark One does not tolerate a counter power to his own within
the Vampire Nation even if amicably aligned. Absolute power within an
organization has no equal. It then becomes contested, not absolute.
5. Do vampires follow a religion or god figure?
Yes, they all follow the Dark One as a godhead of sorts. The
Dark One commands utter loyalty and uses the mystery surrounding him
to project fear amongst his followers. Utter obedience or death serves
as a mandate to those under him. The Dark One is a figure of myth even
within the vampire community. Hardly any have contact with him. Few
have even seen him. Those that see him under less then amicable circumstances
are never seen again.
6. How does a good vampire use "black magic"
to do good things?
There are several definitions of a good vampire. One could be a vampire
that left the evil ways of the Vampire Nation because of conscience.
This would equate to some sense of moral well being. That vampire could
be considered a "good vampire" in the sense that they now relate closely
to our code of morals.
However you could have another vampire that left the Vampire Nation
and has turned on a path such as following God that would prohibit the
use of magic altogether. So a morally good vampire might engage in the
black arts to help those in need and would probably invest time into
"white magic" etc. Whereas a "Christian" vampire would not engage in
any magic practices because of religious beliefs. This type of changed
vampire is more likely to focus on physical ability and prowess over
mental powers and magic because of further moral conviction.
7. If vampires use black magic to transform
humans into vampires would the transformation work on priests?
Only if their spirit was broken to a certain extent to allow
a temporary presence of evil ritual.
8. How do vampires become good?
Over a period of time certain vampires may simply distance themselves
from the Vampire Nation. Maybe they are bitter because of other vampires
and want to rebel or maybe their genetic predisposition to act a certain
way didn't quite take hold like others. This may lead them to have compassion
on those they consider inferior in some ways. Just as humans have different
tendencies due to genetic makeup and/or upbringing, vampires are not
all cut from the same cloth.
Not all vampires that leave the Vampire Nation become good. Some may
simply hate the Vampire Nation and choose to leave and live on their
own terms. This does not mean they stopped killing humans in a relative
cattle/butcher sense. There are many types of vampires just as humans
are composed of many shades of gray.
9. Are there hybrid creatures in Blood Hounds?
What if a vampire tried to transform a Blood Hound? Would that blend
both of their traits into one?
It is possible but not with the Blood Hounds. It depends
on what kind of anomaly you are trying to sink your teeth into. Some
may have an internal process or ability to reject the transforming disease.
Others may not. It also depends on how many commonalties the virus has
with the host concerning their human traits.
10. So vampires in the Blood Hounds universe
are not considered undead?
No they are not. They are very much alive, just higher up
in the food chain.
11. How high can a vampire jump?
2-3 times that of a human. They can jump hard, grab the top
of a one story building and easily vault on top. Nothing crazy. More
powerful vamps can clear a single story without using their hands.
12. How far can a vampire fall without injury?
2-3 stories pending the vampire. Occasionally more if the
vampire is a super freak.
13. Do vampires keep humans around to feed
off of but not kill?
Many times yes. Warm and fresh is best. If the vampire can
keep a willing human or slave around it's like having an on demand personal
chef.
14. Are vampires addicted to any of life's
little afflictions such as drugs, sex, consumerism?
Absolutely. They are still very human in some ways although
they are less prone to human influences because of the reality they
live in. Also one must take into account the various types of vampires
under the Vampire Nation and how overall stature plays a role in taste
just like it does in human society.
15. Do vampires have special powers outside
of the black arts?
Yes, exotic martial abilities, mental tricks they have mastered
like staying in enemies blind spots, stealth abilities, relaxed breathing
techniques under water or when controlling themselves in combat, the
vampires employ a wide variety of ancient wisdom in their combat roles.
16. Do vampires ever retire?
Almost never. They slow to a regular set pace after having been
around for a few hundred years. However they still have the life and
energy to live so they often make the most of it. Being part of the
Vampire Nation is a near endless affair. Retirement for a vampire is
equivalent to a high-end job position in the human world. Having greater
authority and commanding a number of vampires under you. Less overall
work but higher responsibility. In the Vampire Nation being removed
from a position for failure of duty is hardly punishing. It is "how"
you are removed from your position, which can be quite punishing pending
your failure.
17. Do vampires do anything besides work? How do they unwind or socialize?
Yes, they are similar to humans in many, many ways. Even though
most vampires have a dark purpose and totally different stance on what
they see and do, when it comes down to it they are still part human.
There are a number of ways in which vampires might unwind. Similar human
trappings such as sex, drugs, social interaction and exercise. Other
vampire based practices like the black arts, seeking arcane knowledge,
unraveling new sciences, combat techniques or engaging in side retreats
at remote vampire installations fully enjoying new heights of debauchery.
Even though the vampires are considered as one when it comes to their
nation, they are very much individuals and fully explore all that life
has to offer and much more.
18. Where do vampires generally live?
Most of the time they live in areas that are fully controlled by
vampires. This generally means the vampires own most of the real estate
in a given area so as to control the patrons, business and overall traffic
in their region. Sometimes the vampires have secluded housing projects
with lush living accommodations. Some may live amongst humans in the
cities or in mansions to keep up the undercover aspect of their work.
Others may live amongst the poor as their work dictates that street
level connection.
19. Can vampires take public roles in society or will they be discovered?
Yes they can. However it depends on the role. If you were to try
and take a high military or political role you would come under a fine
scope by media, political opposition, or intelligence groups. Usually
the Vampire Nation controls those aspects of society with nation acolytes.
Other roles such as rock stars, actors, media moguls, newscasters, business
tycoons, rich socialites, bankers, brokers, stock traders all the way
down to a local butcher may be assumed by the Vampire Nation. There
is a reason why Elvis is thought to be alive even today. These vocations
have various groups that spotlight them as well however they can enforce
a veil of secrecy when needed as they are not direct public servants.
One common example is the recluse millionaires and billionaires that
are often heard of but never seen.
20. What kind of humans are often selected as victims of a vampires
feast?
Generally the Vampire Nation provides kidnapped victims or blood
supplies as eating in public is risky within such a large human population.
However those that prefer the thrill of the hunt despite nation protocol
go after nearly anybody they deem tasteful. Depending on the character
of the vampire they will choose someone to their perverse liking. Public
feedings are often short for obvious reasons however private feedings
may last for days slowly and methodically draining the victim until
they are too weak and malnourished to continue living.
21. Does a vampire always kill its prey after eating?
If it is a public feeding then yes, no exceptions. If feeding in
private then that is often left to the vampire as their personal preference.
Some may be regular slaves that are often fed upon. Others may be deemed
to be of no continual use and are simply spent in one feeding. If so
then more than one vampire will get in on the bleeding and delight in
the last throes of the victims veins before they cease to no longer
be.
22. Do vampires sleep in coffins or any other unusual way?
No. They sleep in the same fashion as humans do. Occasionally a
few vampires pre-19th century would travel in coffins during the day
as to avoid the heat and questions about the pallor of their skin. However
since the advent of automobiles with extensive cover from the elements
and peeping eyes they now travel in style and luxury.
23. Can a vampire come back to life once it is killed?
Not unless it is temporarily raised as a duguru husk. The vampires
have no lasting power of necromancy let alone resurrection. In extremely
rare cases instances of a resurrection have taken place within the Vampire
Nation. However the power and reason behind these acts are largely unknown.

Vampire Biology
1. How is the process that primes a living being to be turned into a
vampire considered a virus then a disease?
When the virus is put into a beings blood stream it remains dormant
considering transformation but is still alive in the host. This requires
a certain level of survivability on the virus's part to remain in the
body without being defeated by the immune system. Upon being triggered
the virus full on mutates into a spreading disease attacking the body's
immune system until it breaks down and restructures various bodily functions.
During this time the vampiric process must take ahold and change the
host quickly. If it does not then the host simply dies as the disease
was too much to physically survive.
2. If the Dark One engineered this vampiric disease, did he engineer
anything beyond a vampire?
No. The vampiric disease took centuries to create and perfect
due to the technological limitations of the time. During that time the
vampire was perfected and many weaknesses such as sluggish dormancy
during the day were lessened.
However a current ceiling has been reached on vampire research that
may not be further breached. This is not due to technology but spiritual
boundaries set by the earth's Creator. Once long ago these boundaries
were tested with a race of subhumans known as the Nephilim. The Nephilim
were destroyed by forces commanded by the Creator when they attempted
to erase all of humanity. Thus the vampire was born. Meant to enslave
but not destroy. Carefully constructed to not exceed boundaries known
to but a few. Any further research to make a being more naturally powerful
than a vampire is strictly forbidden by the Vampire Nation. Any foolish
enough to oppose this standing edict are hunted relentlessly by the
best killers the Vampire Nation has procured.
However this does not limit the vampires activities in trying to pervert
or corrupt mankind. Cloning and genetic manipulation still serves as
very powerful tools for the vampires to utilize as well as perverse
experimentation upon each other. This can range from physical modification/mutilation
to long lasting drug performance on humans, vampires and even animals.
3. How fast can vampires heal?
That comes down to the overall mental and physical strength of
the vampire. No vampire heals instantly. Strong ones can heal within
an hour from multiple bullet wounds. Others within half a day etc. Severe
wounds within several days. This probably goes against the uber vampire
dancing around everyone's head in a pure Hollywood sort of way. Think
of them as genetic soldiers of sorts running a wide range of different
abilities combined with overall strengths and weaknesses. Hardly invincible
but hardly human.
4. Can vampires have sex IE do they have functioning
organs the same as humans?
Yes. They can have sex with other vampires, humans and even
sire offspring to either.
5. So vampires have a sex drive?
Decidely so. Of course this can vary due to age, upbringing, gender,
job etc.
6. Is a vampires offspring automatically a vampire?
Only if the mating was vampire/vampire. If it was human/vampire or vice
versa then the result would be human until triggered with the dark ritual.
Because the human had a vampire for a parent the virus is already within
the offspring waiting to be triggered.
As a side note, vampires born of other vampires instead of being bitten
are naturally stronger. Pure blood is indeed thicker than bite.
7. If a vampire is born a vampire when does it stop aging?
This is a rather unique situation. Most often they stop aging as a young
adult sometime in their early twenties. However one third of naturally
born vampires have been known to age an additional 10, 20 or 30 years
older. On a even more rare occasion some vampires have physically aged
to their early 60's.
8. Why can't vampires function equally as well during the day?
When the world was created both the light and the night were as
one in the sense there was no stigma attached to either. However after
the downfall of a powerful archangel, this creature soon claimed the
night as his birthright. As this being of darkness claimed relation
to the night, the Creator saw fit to bind this fallen star to his kingdom
of darkness. Thus the light became the natural enemy of the night and
all those who dwell exclusively under its shadows.
Vampires may move about during the light but it is a cruel constant
reminder of their ultimate lineage. One that can never fully be engineered
away.
9. Are any early vampires still alive before the vampiric process was
perfected?
Yes they are considered to be royal elders, immediate family to the
Dark One. They have various weaknesses that are often considered popular
in today's media.
10. Can vampires change other living creatures
besides humans?
Yes, by bite or transfer of saliva. Vampires are often known to
have strange and exotic pets that have lived for centuries feeding on
blood. Usually the only benefit to transforming a non human is extended
life span/healing ability. Living creatures never inherit greater strength,
movement etc. This is a result of the specific fabrication of the genetic
disease finding some commonality within many living creatures. However
the vampiric disease was specifically engineered to find parity with
only human beings.
11. Is it not below a vampire to bite an animal for transformation?
They may transfer their saliva a number of ways. Biting is but one of
them.
12. How old do vampires live to be?
The most powerful ones are thought to be immortal. Champions such
as Blooded Vampires may live to be hundreds of years old.
13. How often do vampires feed?
Generally once every few days to once a week for the higher
up vampires. The combat oriented forces feed every day as they are extremely
active.
14. Do vampires only drink blood to live?
Human blood is the strongest meal ticket for a vampire. However
they may eat regular foods just like humans although this will do next
to nothing for their true appetites. More often then not they will eat
regular foods intermingled with human blood in public. This lets all
sorts of vampires from the Vampire Nation fit in nearly any social scene
with their key special ingredient delectably sprinkled on their food
or mixed in their drink.
15. Do vampires have any other weak points besides head shots or extreme
bleeding?
They have many weak points just like any human. Head shots
simply tax the vampires healing abilities heavier than other bodily
areas. Of course multiple organ damage, heart, lung, main arteries are
all choice targets. The head shot is incredibly useful in most cases
as it will impair the vampires cognitive abilities and motion which
lets you deal further damage against a now retarded target.
16. Can vampires get drunk, high, effected by disease?
Yes. They are simply better at handling the effects. Their
bodies can defeat most diseases over time. Drugs and liquor meant for
humans have little effect on vampires. However the Vampire Nation has
its own recipes and concoctions for celebratory madness. Usually so
potent humans would become incredibly sick or die from attempting such
revelries in a casual fashion.
17. Aren't a vampire's fangs overly obvious to the public eye?
The higher up a vampire gets within the hierarchy the more
control and power they wield. Not only can true vampires somewhat retract
their fangs, others may be able to modify their physical properties
to a greater extent. Being able to adjust facial features or overall
body mass in certain areas and in some cases vampires of the male persuasion
may be able to retract certain organs thereby looking decidedly less
masculine.
18. Since vampires are physically stronger than humans are they more
intelligent as well?
No. The Dark One was very weary when creating vampires on two different
levels. One was to not exceed limits set by the earth's Master and Creator.
Second was to not create a being that would eclipse the Dark One's own
power. This would not only diminish his rule and long term control but
could possibly lead to rebellion and full out uncontrolled war amongst
the Vampire Nation which would be disastrous to say the least.

Vampire Nation
1. How is the Vampire Nation evil?
In the sense that it's overall beliefs greatly contrast against
most nations currently held beliefs. It is almost akin to an extreme
master race attitude. To the vampires humans are cattle, non unique,
unworthy of life and exist to serve the vampires in some form or another.
We can typically equate this to many civilizations throughout history
who took this attitude to some extent and placed it on another race.
The vampires just take it to new levels because of their raw super human
abilities and demonically engineered background. This almost puts them
on a totally different place of existence.
2. How exactly does the Vampire Nation go about
making money?
Every way they can, from legit businesses, to mafia style shakedowns
and schemes, smuggling, arms trade, drugs, you name it they are into
it.
3. How do vampires conduct warfare during daylight if all the higher
ups are weak?
Generally they will bring along many Half Breeds with various training
and weapons along with a few blooded and occasionally chosen will accompany
important daytime operations.
4. Do the vampires have bases worldwide?
Most definitely. They operate to various degrees on every single
continent.
5. Do the vampires use similar forces worldwide?
Yes unlike the vampire hunters which often have their own
looks, variety of custom weapons etc, many of the vampires forces are
identically armed and dressed world wide. However many of the Vampire
Nation's personalities run the gamut in looks and weapons just like
the hunters.
6. Does the Vampire Nation hunt vampire hunters?
Yes, the Vampire Nation has several dedicated teams of deadly hunters
that specialize in the removal of heavily armed enemies. The vampires
are very good at what they do and hunt there enemies world wide almost
as often as the vampire hunters. However as the Vampire Nation has more
enemies and concerns then just vampire hunters their resources are spread
out over a wider theatre of operations.
7. Does the Vampire Nation have unique sub-names for different vampire
groups around the world?
Yes, all vampire groups have their own unique group names around
the world. This is most often left to the leading vampire in an area
to decide.
8. Do vampires have their own bars, clubs, restaurants, recreational
facilities?
They own human organizations that make profit for the Vampire
Nation but as for public venues, never. However in heavily controlled
vampire areas they have many private clubs and recreational facilities
that cater to the dedicatedly perverse vampire pleasures. They are almost
never found in general public areas of interest however.
9. If vampires continue to have kids won't
they eventually breed out of control?
The Vampire Nation heavily regulates all new vampires brought into
the fold. This includes whether they are transformed humans or natural
birth vampires.
10. Does the Vampire Nation or vampire hunters have any vehicular weapon
platforms?
Typically the Vampire Nation uses armored vehicles to move
around important members. Most often these vehicles are not armed. A
few vehicles on the vampire hunter's sides have weapons that may be
deployed from hatches etc but nothing extraordinary. The vampires have
been known to deploy armored personnel carriers at remote installations
and bases across the globe along with all sorts of high end anti-vehicle
weaponry. However these are some of the most dangerous places in the
world for non-Vampire Nation to tread.
Besides the usual assortment of private planes and helicopters the vampires
deploy light helicopter gunships at remote bases as well. The Vampire
Nation is not a military and does not really have a use for combat planes,
tanks etc. However they keep around certain counter measures to fight
against such high end threats just in case.
11. Are there spies within the Vampire Nation?
Yes but it is incredibly difficult to penetrate the vampire
organization. At a lower level it comes much easier but as you gain
rank the acts you are asked to commit and the tests you are put under
are incredibly hard to undertake in the undercover role. Also the Vampire
Nation over hundreds of years has gotten the art of detecting enemies
within their ranks down to a science. Sooner or later certain personalities
within the Vampire Nation that specialize in physic projection and mental
telepathy will find you out. What happens after you have been found
out is rather dark indeed.
12. In the overall scheme of things who will
win in the end, vampires or vampire hunters?
The vampires have already won. They control the majority
of the world in one way or another. It is disrupting this one sided
evil balance and manipulation that brings a measure of truth to everyday
society in which the effects can be felt as a tremor of an earthquake.
13. Does the Vampire Nation influence current
events like war, politics, societal upheaval?
All the time. Carefully planned large scale events can greatly
influence the policy of countries thereby opening rather large gateways
for the Vampire Nation to exploit.
14. How many vampires are there in the Vampire
Nation worldwide?
In a total population of 6.5 billion humans and counting
the Vampire Nation totals just over 1 million strong. However when you
consider family, brides, slaves, keepers etc that do not act within
the nations direct activities but are still vampires the number goes
up by another 500,000.
The vampires adjust according to the carefully planned resources needed
to fully control and manipulate all areas of interest. In large cities
the vampires account for 1 out of every 1000 humans. This means in most
major cities there are 1000 vampires for every 1 million humans.
However in regions like China, India, Africa etc the vampire presence
is less because of the outrageous population. Also those areas are much
less complicated to overly control and subvert as they are subjected
to less outside influence.
While that number of vampires in major cities is quite high one must
remember most of them are low level enforcers such as Half Breeds, Nation
Acolytes which are humans working for vampires undercover and many are
support and infrastructure that are not very practiced in combat roles.
15. What's the ultimate goal of the Vampire Nation?
To gain such a level of control and manipulation that hardly any
effort is needed to implement the Dark One's will over the human population
world wide. To build a society that is more in step with the perverse
thinking and ideology of the Vampire Nation thus less immune to their
influence. To secure a future totalitarian foothold in every country
around the globe that ensures the Vampire Nations long term survival.
16. How often does the Vampire Nation get into
combat engagements?
The Vampire Nation engages in low level combat every day,
in hundreds of cities across the world. Mafia, gangs, hunters, government
agencies, rogue militaries in less advanced countries, spies, occasional
uprisings within and policy enforcement for those less willing world
wide. Just a sampling of the vampires overall combat activities.
17. Are vampires located in small cities and towns?
Occasionally to offer additional services such as secluded
retreats, safe houses, supply stores etc. The vampires are well prepared
for emergency events in case any large scale disasters happen in cities
outside resources may be utilized.
18. Do vampires run any country's government directly?
Yes. Although the vampires usually see fit to influence governments
the decision was made to cement an official safe zone for the Vampire
Nation. The vampires selected a country at the Dark One's personal request.
Vampires run this country in all high positions of power. It is a small
country, perceivably ravaged by poverty with a weak military. However
this is merely an underlying guise of the countries true history and
current leadership. Once a very powerful vampire ruled this country.
It was this vampires intent to set up his own kingdom apart from the
Vampire Nation. He was removed by the Vampire Nation for his public
foolishness and betrayal. Nowadays the country is run discreetly and
offers no value whatsoever for tourists. It is rumored that within this
country lies the Vampire Nation's Central Command.
19. Do vampires ever develop any loyalties
outside of the Vampire Nation?
Rarely. Those that do often end up trying to leave the Vampire
Nation and hide or try and minimize their role within the nation. Other
vampires may develop sympathies for certain humans as they work around
them but ultimately the Vampire Nation commands higher loyalty especially
when considering the power they wield.
20. How many vampires defect from the Vampire
Nation?
Well there is a lot of variables. If it is a heavy time of action
for the Vampire Nation then vampires are less likely to leave because
they are very active and have less time to entertain such notions. In
slower periods of operation some vampires might become a little restless
or rebellious against the leadership and attempt to seek other venues.
Also yet another factor to take into account is what kind of vampires?
The whole Vampire Nation or just what is considered to be true a vampire
like blooded and chosen? In the case of the nation as a whole the defection
rate is roughly 5-7%. Among true vampires however the rate is 1-2%.
So for every 1000 true vampires brought into the fold, 1 or 2 leave
for a variety of reasons. Since these vampires live to be quite old
that means there are quite a few of them around. Unlike the other percent
of defectors such as half breeds, acolytes or nation acolytes who die
of old human age. So in reality there are quite a few vampires living
in the world outside the Vampire Nation. A rough estimate would place
the numbers up to 15,000. This is based off the total number of years
the Vampire Nation has been around plus how often true vampires are
created and a margin of defectors hunted then killed.
21. Are any humans allowed into the higher vampire ranks?
None whatsoever. Nation acolytes are the highest rank a human can
achieve within the Vampire Nation. This means that a willing human who
has betrayed humanity has been so useful to the vampires and exceeded
their expectations the vampires treat them as one of their own concerning
benefits. However the humans are always kept at arms length as entrance
to the hierarchy is a fang and vein only club.
22. Do vampires have a central command or is
it all spread out?
It is all spread out. The majority of powerful chosen vampires gathering
is a rare occurrence happening once or twice a year at the most. Most
of the chosen work in their own areas they have been given to govern.
Chosen often visit other controlled areas to discuss business or engage
in pleasure. So a few chosen vampires being found together is actually
pretty common.
There is a central command that is in direct contact with all major
commands across the world. However the location of the central command
is unknown to all but a few. Even the majority of the chosen vampires
do not know where the Vampire Nation's Central Command is located. Rumor
has it that the Dark One is also present at this top-secret facility.
23. Are female vampires treated equally in
the Vampire Nation?
Generally yes. However since there are more males in high positions
of power it is harder for females to advance as well as their counterparts.
Once a female vampire attains rank she is given the proper respect by
those under her or they are simply removed with extreme prejudice. Concerning
respect from equal or higher ranking vampires that is more or less earned
over time.
24. Are female vampires allowed to run the head of vampire households?
Are they allowed amongst the ranks of chosen? Yes and yes.
Usually males run vampire houses as there are simply more applicants
than females. However there are a few female leaders in very high positions
of power. The highest female position of power would be that of the
Dark One's bride and mother to the Vampire Nation. She ranks only second
to the Dark One himself.
25. What's the percent of female vampires in
the Vampire Nation?
Very low if you consider all the low-level enforcers such as half
breeds and acolytes are mostly male. Most true female vampires live
as companions to their vampire mates. A lower number have active roles
in the Vampire Nation. So concerning true vampire females that have
direct roles in the Vampire Nation you are looking at possibly 15-20%.
26. If a house vampire is killed does their family take over the head
position or is a new head chosen from the Vampire Nation hierarchy?
Yes, if the family can take over with little issue or challenge
then they may do so. This is often how female vampires come to charge
over large vampire houses. Sometimes they come to power because they
orchestrated the removal of the house head themselves. Needless to say
it pays to keep your fellow vampire companions happy or at arms length.
If the transition goes smoothly and the new head meets the challenge
of running a vampire house then they may stay and officially become
a chosen vampire.
27. Do vampires regularly employ any other strange inhuman beings?
Not regularly, no. When possible and trustworthy to a certain
degree yes. Besides Zombies who are inhuman to a certain degree there
are other beings such as demon possessed individuals who have a variety
of powers that are similarly aligned with the vampires. Occasionally
the vampires employ the highly dangerous and tempting succubi into their
ranks usually to persuade certain individuals in human society. From
time to time even humans will be contracted by the Vampire Nation as
they have mastered mysterious arts that make them highly valuable.
28. Mom and Pops from the Blood Hounds are very young vampires. Are
there any more like them?
Yes. Nowadays the Vampire Nation has strict rules as to how many
vampires may be turned and the minimum age for inclusion. However before
this time the vampires were much more careless in those they turned
and fully blooded. This has led to the creation of many vampires that
maintain a child like youth no matter their true age. Some of these
individuals wield power within the Vampire Nation. There is even rumor
of a vampire turned so young it cannot even walk under its own power...
29. Were the vampires fighting for the Germans
during WW2?
Yes and no. They were connected at the hip so to speak. The Vampire
Nation does not align itself with any other nation exclusively. The
vampires however had a genuine interest and motivation to work with
the Nazi Scientists concerning genetic engineering. They did so through
covert occult connections with the Nazi Party.
Their intent was not to help the Nazi's in their research but to obstruct
key points of research along the way in order to all but handicap the
effort. The Vampire Nation does not care for contenders in the field
of genetic manipulation. However the Vampire Nation was not opposed
to the Germans winning the war and did advance their use of combat drugs
to be used in the battlefield.
The Vampire Nation saw the German war machine as a way to seed their
will globally if the Germans won. The vampires concluded it would be
reasonable to heavily infiltrate the Nazi Party if the Germans started
to win the war thus ruling the winners. Such a plan was never engaged
due to early estimates by the Vampire Shadow Council that Germany could
never outright win but may possibly draw a new treaty of sorts to conclude
the war.

Blood Hounds
1. Are the Blood Hounds Werewolves?
No. They can change into something resembling a strong slightly
hairy creature but their features do not drastically change to do so.
Hair, nails, ears get slightly longer, canines get a lot longer and
physical features become slightly sharper as muscle mass becomes more
dense. Overall they do not turn into beasts, wolves, nor do they have
odd jointed legs or gain any substantial height etc. It is a slight
physical transformation that adds to what they already are.
2. What are the Blood Hounds then?
They are similar to vampires in the sense that they are permanently
changed within. However what changed them and why is a different story...
3. Do the Blood Hounds have any other special powers besides their "Hound"
aspects?
They possess practiced martial abilities like the vampires but they
do not engage in any mental/magic powers. However the other Blood Hounds
members Mom, Pops, Angela and Black Rat do have a variety of powers
that lay outside the purely physical realm.
4. Are there any more beings exactly like the Blood Hounds?
No. There are other bestial type creatures in the world that have
interesting powers that are more akin to a "werewolf" in mythical proportions.
The Blood Hounds are totally unique in their own fashion.
5. Are the Blood Hounds Immortal like higher up vampires?
Yes. Whatever currently possesses their being has afforded them
immortality like the more powerful vampires they hunt. Neither the Blood
Hounds nor the vampires are invincible however.
6. How fast do the Blood Hounds heal?
Generally in a similar fashion to powerful vampires. Both
are identical in the way that the more you wound them, the slower they
heal. This is due to their healing ability being spread out on multiple
wounds. This is also why even inexperienced hunters may get lucky. With
todays fire power you can open multiple wounds very fast and immediately
tie up their healing abilties. Anything past that and they start to
suffer from human related weaknesses concerning blood loss etc.
7. What do the blood hounds eat? How often do they eat?
The Hounds themselves eat normal every day food. They are
exactly like humans and vampires concerning the more active they are
the more they need to eat/drink. Unlike humans the Blood Hounds internal
system makes better use of what they eat and they can go longer and
stronger on less food. Come dinner time the vampires will often eat
what the Blood Hounds are having as well. The vampires within Blood
Hounds enjoy the taste of food just like humans but of course they add
one special ingredient for proper nourishment.
8. When will the Blood Hounds introduction story be concluded from the
beginning of this book?
Later on towards the end of the game when there is time to
finish it properly. It will be rather.... Large.
9. When Wolfman was shot in the story how did he heal so fast?
Does this translate to the game? He only healed to a certain
extent. While his body was able to push a low caliber pistol round out
and stem the blood flow rather quickly, it was just barely healed on
the outside. Inside there was still a lot to be repaired with internal
bleeding and organs. Any additional wounds would continually hamper
the healing ability.
10. Does a full moon effect the Blood Hounds or vampires?
It sometimes makes vampires a little "batty" so to speak as they
become struck with a nervous energy and are prone to committing some
sort of heavy physical action outside of their normal routine.
It effects the Blood Hounds in a way that they have trouble not morphing
into their bestial like states and will become more fierce than usual.
The Blood Hounds will most often choose not to go out under full moons
unless a grand opportunity presents itself.
11. The vampires can see in the dark, what about the Blood Hounds?
The Blood Hounds can see in the dark good, but not as perfectly
as vampires. However the Blood Hounds utilize one asset to a great advantage
over vampires. Their sense of smell. They are called Blood Hounds for
a reason.
12. Are Mom and Pops from Blood Hounds a couple?
Yes. They are both several hundred years old and originally
hail from Ireland/England respectively. After being initiated into the
Vampire Nation they soon both gravitated towards each other because
of their physical similarities. Being that there were other vampires
similar to them, Pops was actively engaged with another before meeting
Mom. However he was smitten by Mom later engaging in a dangerous romance
with her. Because of his decision they eventually had to flee the Vampire
Nation or deal with the internal politics and repercussions of his decision.
13. Do the Blood Hounds have any spouses, family etc?
Long Snake used to be married but is now divorced as his
wife did not know of his secret activities and always wondered where
he was. Mud Hawk had a wife that was initially killed by the vampires.
Soon after he was recruited by the Vatican. Mom and Pops have been married
to each other for nearly a century. Other than that the Blood Hounds
have no living family whatsoever. They are now their own tight knit
family.
14. Do the Blood Hounds have a permanent base or do they move around
from city to city?
They move around from city to city with a semi truck/trailer,
a van and a car. They usually set up temporary bases in remote locations
or abandoned werehouses. They constantly hit vampire operations and
keep on the move every few months so as to not wear out their welcome
and attract too much attention from the Vampire Nation. Generally they
work within the USA however when they come across various intelligence
they will make preparations to travel abroad.

Vampire Hunters
1. Are there more vampire hunters besides the Blood Hounds?
There are many, many more. Former vampires, tons of humans,
other supernatural type beings world wide. The reason why the game is
named after the Blood Hounds is because they are the focal point from
which I bring you into the world. From that common introductory ground
it is my hope you have a solid foundation in which to emerse yourself
in the game.
2. Do vampire hunters work together?
Occasionally but it is rather rare. Being a hunter is a dangerous
and secluded business. Working together would greatly benefit hunting
parties but by their own nature they rarely congregate.
3. Do vampire hunters have gatherings, unified
bases etc?
Generally no, although a few organizations do exist that
regularly supply hunters with anti-vampire weaponry. There is a great
fear amongst vampire hunters that any large organization would eventually
be penetrated by the Vampire Nation and lead to the loss of many hunters.
4. How risk oriented is it being a vampire
hunter?
Very risky. If you are a poor vampire hunter then you will
be probably snuffed out by lower level Vampire Nation members as you
were too careless in your approach. If you are good then you garner
the attention of the Vampire Nation's surveillance and hunting teams
which are incredibly dangerous. There is heavy risk involved no matter
who you are. Tactics such as always initiating the fight, never staying
in one city or place for too long and never overextending yourself concerning
resources and ability will often keep you alive. Most vampire hunters
meet their end by being caught off guard instead of in direct combat
with a vampire.
5. How do vampire hunters who are they themselves
vampires feed?
Usually they feed on human bad guys. Vampire Acolytes are
plentiful not to mention bad guys in general such as gang bangers, murderers,
rapists etc. There's also the possibility of using a vampire hunter
supplier that also deals in blood or scoring a cache of blood packs
off of freshly killed vampires.
If the hunter has a willing donor or partner that may provide regular
sustenance as well.
6. How do vampire hunters find vampires in such a large population of
humans?
They hit the streets using any information they find and heavily
observe all suspicious activity for any sign of the Vampire Nation.
In addition to hard observation, any side skills the vampire hunter
has or can access may be of great use. Being able to tell how someone
exactly died might give way to the Vampire Nation's combat programs
or practiced arts. Computer skills in hacking, tracing and research
may find trails leading to vampire holdings. Doing undercover work in
drug circles and high-end stolen merchandise might reveal acolyte operations.
There are many ways in which the Vampire Nation may be sought. It comes
down to the experience of the hunter and their ability to correctly
use that experience to not only seek out the vampires but also stay
alive once they do.
7. How do vampire hunters make money to operate?
Vampire hunters must be resourceful in everything they do.
Regular funding is one of the hardest obstacles a vampire hunter must
face on a regular basis. From food, ammunition, technology and mobility
to simple things like medical resources. Many vampire hunters try and
keep simple side jobs that barely pay the bills. Others may work full
time occasionally taking the time to hunt when an opportunity arises.
Full time vampire hunters are often master scavengers. If they find
a vampire operated business they may try stealing products and money
from it before assaulting the vampires who run it. Anyone a vampire
hunter kills usually has some equipment that can be sold through back
channel resources on the black market. And of course vampire hunters
can also fight regular crime as it is often easier to take down human
criminals than the Vampire Nation. Shaking down drug dealers, pimps
and more then stealing their property and hawking it. There are many
ways in which vampire hunters may go about making money to support their
"alternate activities".
8. Do vampire hunters have families?
Typically no although a small percent do. Most have lost
their families or left them behind in the wake of their obsession in
hunting vampires. Those that have families must be very cautious in
how they operate as their families may become liabilities that may be
used against them.
9. How many vampire hunters are there compared to vampires?
There is roughly 6-7 vampire hunters for every 1000 vampires.
Given that there are over 1 million vampires this means there around
7000 vampire hunters tops.
10. How is it possible to fight the vampires if they are so advanced
biologically and technologically?
The vampires control is implemented through human leaders
who then dictate the vampires overall policy and will. So although their
control is great, vampires use humans as a force multiplier to implement
their will. In the mass of humanity it is easy to blend in and completely
disappear. As the vampires do this very well, so do those who hunt them.
It would take a large amount of the Vampire Nation's resources to fully
hunt and track specific individuals. The Vampire Nation engages in such
hunting but their resources are limited concerning "vampower" and priority
tasking. So while technology is an enabler it is hardly useful without
putting action behind the captured data.
For the Vampire Nation to warrant an extensive hunt you would have to
heavily disrupt a multitude of operations or kill chosen vampires. Usually
when the Vampire Nation is attacked during their constant work they
simply change further scheduling and commit extra protection. If you
bypass the additional measures they will then commit heavy security
along with starting a local investigation as to your whereabouts. They
will start to work on hunting their prey. If the hunters continue to
pose a problem in the same area then the chosen regent will contact
the Vampire Nation's Security Council which will then dispatch kill
teams. Although hunters have survived the kill teams their presence
alone will deter any and all further aggression in the area for a period
of time thereafter.
As for combating a superior biological and experienced being, surprise
and overwhelming violence of action followed by melting into the endless
framework of life's daily routine is life saving and time proven.

Supernatural
1. Will there be angels and fallen angels present in Blood Hounds?
Very rarely, yes.
2. Do angels and fallen angels appear physically?
Yes. However they are more often then not observers and messengers.
They almost never engage in direct action with the global populace unless
granted to do so.
3. Do powers based on evil effect those aligned
with the light?
Directly, no. Indirectly, say through the mental movement of a physical
object hurled to cause harm, yes.
4. How does God and the Devil fit into the
Blood Hounds Universe?
Yahweh and Lucifer fit in the sense as they always have. One works
in mysterious ways and the other works in not so mysterious ways. They
won't exactly be making personal appearances in the physical sense of
course.

Mankind
1. Why don't the collective human nations come together and hunt the
vampires?
Very few individuals know of the Vampire Nation. It would
be a massive undertaking to convince the entire public of such a race
especially with vampires controlling many powerful media outlets. Also
there is always the threat of the Vampire Nation striking back with
chemical weapons in every major city they are in. They have a technological
and logistical edge in virtually every major city across the globe.
If pressed they could bring the world to its knees. However this is
not the kind of world governments or the Vampire Nation want to rule.
2. How do governments react to the Vampire
Nation in their country?
Depending on the government and its level of counter intelligence
sophistication it may often form official anti-vampire hunting groups.
Once in a while governments make side deals with vampire hunters awarding
bounty for confirmed kills. Usually this is done by removing the vampire's
fangs for proof. Less advanced countries may not even bother as they
are hardly aware of the vampire's presence to begin with.
3. What kinds of groups do governments field in order to combat vampires?
You have a variety of counter vampire groups armed with special
weaponry. Also there are contract groups that will hunt vampires for
anyone that can pay their fee. More powerful governments have dedicated
branches that research vampires and their biology attempting live capture
for testing. Other groups out there consist of paranormal research groups
or occult based organizations that might be aware of the vampires and
try to counter it in their own ways.
