Oh Hell
Helter and Skelter are demon imps created by the Arch Demon Kiramanon. More specifically they are "Grovelings" which are comical imps created by demons for the amusement of lesser demons. While most do not retain the evil intentions of their masters they nearly always project a chaos effect upon those they have dealings with. Upon the Arch Demon Kiramanons invasion of The Isle of Fulcrum the two grovelings were freed when Kiramanon was killed by a trio of Emperor Glaive's, Kohas, Carra and Malachai.

Being Groveling Imps created by a very powerful conjurer, Helter and Skelter have an uncanny knack for sensing out and identifying magikal artifacts, a side effect imparted by their creator. This has led them to a very special magik shop in The World of Red Reign trafficked by some of the most feared and revered magik users in the realm. It is here that they spend their days torturing customers with the gift of foul wit whilst lifting magikal artifacts from un-sensing patrons packs.

The shopkeeper, a most notorious Were Gavore known as "Drazirius the Tamer" keeps many magikal pets out and about the shop as well as Helter and Skelter for their unique magik abilities. This is not to say Helter and Skelter do not get out of the shop as they are often prone to do. They will leave for many moons committing various acts of theft, arson and the eating of anything and everything they can get their hands on. Often found curled up in a pile of mew leaves with thoroughly chewed bits of food they soon find their way back to the shop rather quickly with a mob of angry villagers fast upon their heels.

Groveling imps created as a heckling duet, Helter and Skelter retain distinct personalities. Helter being kinder and unabashedly curious which may sometimes be mistaken for crudeness and Skelter with a short temper and a shorter hotter tongue to match. However when focusing on the same object or a soon to be sorry individual, their energies fall in sync letting them nearly finish each others sentences, move in mischievous concert and utterly rend apart magikal contraptions that need explanatory solving.

The Deal
Helter and Skelter are the RKE mascots. They have nothing to do that sick bastard charles manson or his book/movie named "Helter Skelter". I loosly knew the term "helter skelter" in the dictionary and as soon as I looked it up I knew it fit them perfectly as individual names. The idea for them 1st came from writing a 40 page short story for the world of Red Reign. I wanted something comical so created these two to wreak humorous havok in the story.

Later, a friend was talking about having hot chicks represent his company in a mascot sort of way. I immediately remembered Helter and Skelter and thought they would be the perfect mascots and so began gleefully incorporating them into the website and oh so much more.

I realize they are very much akin to the two imps in Disneys Hercules aptly named Pain and Panic if I remember correctly. After all, two comical imps are two comicals imps. But as a creator you must realize everything has been done before you. Bad ass knights, hella scary bad guys, wierd and wonderfull creatures etc etc. Originality in a world wide connected web does not exist. Its been done. Passion to create because that is all you see is the only thing that will cut you a world of your own. Those without scope, scale and imagination will make worlds that reflect in kind. So even though many things have similarities in this world, I will push for a clear distinction between my creations and others.

Thinking back to what may have inspired me growing up, to create Helter and Skelter, I would have to say those two old theater coots in the upper balcony on Sesame Street were very funny and witty and always played off of each other. Or the nefarious duo of Beavis and Butthead which had a infinite capacity for hilarious stupidity. Just like my hero as a very young kid, The Lone Ranger, is reflected in many ways in the Red Knight.

Here is to hope. Hoping that I make my own way and weave that dream that wont die in my head. Heres hoping that I don't screw it all up.
