What are you making all this for?
That's a great question. The answer is because I want to.

Well no shit, but why to your because?
To explain my because or the want behind the because?

The 1st one.
Okay. When I created the Red Knight (character) according to my own vision and then Red Knight Entertainment to run with the vision I started dreaming. This dreaming immediately led me to my life goal concerning employment. It was (and I quote myself) "Create whatever I want however and whenever I want, retain the rights to it all and get payed for it." Not asking much huh?

Before that just as I graduated high school quite honestly I wanted to work for the big names in the video game and miniature industries or draw comics about God knows what. But the Red Knight screwed all that up. It became a little hobby. Writing a thought or a short blurb or story or jabberwocky or sketch down here and there. And thus a little hobby turned into a little dream and that little dream...

But hey, since I live in reality I knew there was a good chance of dreams not happening specifically "a perfect dream" ie exactly what you want. So I didn't care. I just went to work, did my thing, played video games, read comic books, but still, that sonabitch kept nagging me. Sonabitch! To clarify what a dream is to me, it's not a wanton wish, it's not a feel good dream like we all have about being popular, successful, rich, respected, a rock star etc. It's about having something inside of you that you can bring about that no one else has in the way you can. Otherwise quite frankly it wouldn't be a dream if someone else had made something so close to your ethereal vision, it would be reality. Thus you would add your dream to thier vision because it's pretty damn close to what you love.

So I am doing this because I have a dream that won't stop, it won't let me sleep and it won't let me quit. And trust me, i've wanted to quit more than a few times along the way and just get a real job and enjoy what the world has to offer. But I can't. Not till my dream becomes a reality.

What if nobody cares?
If I was doing this because someone wanted a product to play with I simply wouldn't do it or I would throw some half ass crap I know would sell out there. I am not doing this because I want to be wealthy. If I make a living at this or a good living at this, thats just a perk to the main deal. I am not doing this because I love games or miniatures or the hobby. I like games and miniatures and the hobby and I want to bring something cool to it, but I don't love it. There are very, very few things I love and have a passion for in life. My dream happens to be one of them. We all have that thing in life we must do. Some of us do the do, some of us don't. I cannot live with myself unless I do so I will.

So every game you make you really really love as it is your dream?
It's wierd, at first I thought I wouldn't love all the games I made, specially the early ones as they were not part of the original dream. They didn't fit, they were just born of necessity to start the company so in the end I could properly approach my dream games with the proper time and resources.

However I found out that as I worked on these "lesser" games that I could not work on something with a watered down vision. So I put more into the startup games I had in my head and soon they too became games I loved working on, thinking about and ultimately dreaming about. In the end I discovered when it comes down to something as personal as world/character creations, if I don't love it, I can't bring myself to make it. So yes, I love my work. I love what I do and that I am able to do it.

What then after your dream is complete?
Whatever. I don't care. All I know is I gotta do this. Besides, I'm not exactly worried about getting bored, I'm more or less worried about having enough time to fullfill this bastard of a dream.

So I say to you Godspeed! Oh, and of course, sweet dreams...
