Book
Binding Options
I offer all my books in a variety of print bound ways. Be
sure to choose the book binding that best represents what
and how you play.
Perfect Bound
Perfect binding is one of the most common type of binding.
Just like most novels, miniature game books sold in stores
etc.
PRO
1.
Those who want books that fit in with the rest of their
collection. If you have collected a lot of game books over
the years and want a fine addition to add to your shelf perfect
bound is the way to go.
2. For books that are
intially read then only sparsly referenced later on. For instance
a rule book that you would read extensively and then only
occasionally reference once in a while because the rules are
commited to memory.
CON
1. Hard to keep open flat
while playing a game. Forcing book flat results in glued binding
to eventually seperate with whole segments of the book coming
loose.
Coil Bound
Coil Bound is similar to wire bound but instead used a plastic
coil in the place of metal wire. It can take a beating and
does not deform as easily like wire sometimes does under pressure.
PRO
1. Those who reference
books alot during gaming. Coil Bound not only stays perfectly
flat but also folds under itself taking up half as much room
as a normal open book.
2.
Those who make notes from books to gaming sheets for
reference.
CON
1. May eventually tear up over time especially
if transported in backpacks/briefcases and used regularly.
2. Does not look good
on a shelf and fit in with other books. No print on outside
binding.
Hard Back
Best quality, lasts a very long time.
PRO
1. Lasts for nearly forever.
PRO/CON
1.
Will not stay open as easy as coil bound but stays
open better than perfect bound with no damage to binding.
CON
1. Adds 11-12 bucks to overall cost of book.
PDF
All of my rule books which are needed to play RKE Games
are available as PDF's as well and are substantially cheaper
to purchase plus you save additional money on shipping.
